The German Gymnastic Federation is very satisfied with the actual valid International Specification for Orienteering Maps (ISOM). Of course, there are some special Middle-European features which might be presented with special symbols. But as the number of symbols should not be increased, national interests should keep back. Especially vegetation objects must not be overemphasised. Nevertheless there are some suggestions to increase line width and screens for a better legibility:

101, 103	Contours and form lines to be increased from 0,125 to 0,14.
115, 204, 205, 303	the symbol "V" to be increased
306, 307	crossable small watercourse and minor water channel to be increased from 0,125 to 0,18
406	Forest, slow running; screen to be increased from 20% to 30%
408	forest, difficult to run; screen to be increased from 50% to 60%
509	narrow ride to be increased from 0,125 to 0,15

A special problem in cultivated forests are tracks and paths covered with felled or broken trees. With the actual ISOM there is only the possibility to show a track (which means good runnability) or to omit the presentation of the track although it is very obvious. It would be very useful to create a symbol for it.
