How to reach Niteroi from Rio?
We recommend to use the service of ferries departing from Praça XV (Rio de Janeiro) to Praça Arariboia (Niterói), a nice trip of only 20 minutes across the Guanabara Bay. For detailed information (daily schedules and prices) please visit the website of the CCR Barcas Company.
From the Praça Arariboia (Arariboia Square) you have three options to reach the Institute: On the same square you can get a taxi or you can get the bus 47A or 47B on the Platform D of the bus station, which has a stop just in front of the Institute... or you can enjoy a 25 minutes walk following the coast (see the Google map above).
