The 1867 Settlement between Vienna and Budapest inaugurated a period of rapid industrialisation, with policies supporting industry and the banking network. This map records the beginnings of this industrial boom. It was produced by Imre Németh, a secretary of state and later adviser to a major source of credit and finance, the AB, who himself helped to shape the parameters of the insitutions.
